FEE STRUCTURE AS OF JANUARY 01, 2008

We have tried to orchestrate a commission structure that works to our clients best interests.  Of course we also need to make a few dollars along the way.  Due to increased costs we have had to alter our fee system.  Those pipes that have arrived on   Dec 31, 06 or prior will STILL be at the OLD fee structure.  Any arriving after Jan 01, 07 will be under the new system which is below.   ( in red text ) 

The reason for the increases are as follows;

 Commercial border crossings will have an increased fee levied by US customs.  First glance it appears to be double.  $10.25 per crossing.  This is not as yet set in stone and may be changed.  Alternative is for Briar Blues to ship everything from Canada.  No problems from my end, however delivery time may be as long as 5 weeks and full customs declarations are required, which means duty will be collected if needed by US customs from YOU the buyer.  Currently I hand clear each and every parcel through US customs. 

 Coming soon will be electronic manifests on all commercial shipments going into the US.  I do some of these currently for my day profession. Each one takes around 30 - 45 minutes.  IF one is required for each invoice ( which we assume it is ) it adds that much time per item. 30 shipments would equate to 15 hours work.  These may be able to be done as a bulk, but the ruling has not come down as yet.  Again to avoid this I could ship from Canada.

 Pay Pal - my favorite people.  After looking at this years accounts it appears that on pipes in the high end price range Briar Blues only breaks even and on pipes over $1000.00 we loose money.   Why? Pay Pal payments via charge cards are at 4.9%. So on a $1000.00 purchase via Pay Pal the fees are $49.00 plus their $0.55 fee.  With a flat fee of $50.00 the remaining $0.45 gross relates to a loss. Ok I'm blonde and math was never my strong suit.  

 So the new fee structure will look like this.

Items under $100.00 - 30% 

Items $101.00 - $500.00 - 20%

Items $501  and up - 15%

E-Bay - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

 After the new costs are calculated it still means that Briar Blues will be working on close to the same margins as the past. 

 PLEASE - you must contact me via email prior to sending any items.  You must include a list of contents and the prices you would like each item set at.  You also MUST include your name and return address.  If not how can I send you a check for sold goods?  Failure to follow these may result in your package being returned postage collect.

At our end we will do a light clean and polish on each pipe.  We will photograph each pipe and display them on the site in a large format.  Upon arrival we will catalogue your pipes and list each one on a spreadsheet.  
Our rules as far as your pipes are as follows;

We are not allowed to purchase any pipes from any client, until the pipe has had at least 30 days on the site with full public access to purchase.

We are not allowed to smoke your pre smoked pipes!!!!!

We will not accept trade offers for your pipes, without first consulting you.

The prices asked for your pipes are determined by both YOU and US. 

If your pipes do not sell after a reasonable amount of time and you wish them returned, they will be shipped back, ( at n/c )  and  cleaned ( at n/c ) .
